A few years back, i purposed within myself, that i will no longer, merely exist, or survive. I determined i would start to live life to the fullest. I determined that i will no longer be concerned by what other people think or say about me. Instead i decided to start living like the giant i know i was created to be. Somehow, I know i was made for more and i promised myself, to seek to discover and understand that ‘more’ and start living it out, one day at a time.
One thing is for sure, God didn’t make a mistake with me. No way! All the gifts, yearnings and peculiarities in me are there for a reason. And while, i may not understand it all, i owe, it to myself to give ‘me’ a chance to live, to thrive. I’m done apologizing for who i am. In the words of Keala Settle in the greatest showman hit song; “I’m not scared to be seen. I make no apologies. This is me! Period!
From childhood, your truly had always believed that i wasn’t enough and needed to act like A or talk like B, or dress like C, to be seen or heard. How wrong i was! The truth is you are unique and so am I. There just can never be another you or me, so lets be the best at being ourself!
The above quote from Maya Angelou so aptly captures the mission of this blog and my new motto for life. And i daresay, while we’re at it, let’s have faith and hope and touch lives too!
So today, i raise my glass to “being me” and so should you! So, let’s go live Joyfully and Freely!
